As standard we use multipoint locks on our doors. These offer the highest levels of security since they lock at several points down the door edge, and can be specified to incorporate top and bottom shootbolts which secure the leaf into the frame We use only the best quality, German engineered hardware by Winkhaus and Roto, the locks are coupled with anti-bump, anti-snap euro profile cylinders.
We manufacture an ‘internal glazing rebate’ which means that the glass and glazing beads are positioned inside the building where they cannot be tampered with. All our glazing is either toughened or laminated, further reducing the possibility of intruder break in.
Door panel arrangements are important in determining the style of the door. However, traditional door panel construction presents a cold spot in terms of insulation because the timber is thinnest at this point. We have evolved our own design which incorporates a high performance insulation sandwich between two panels. The visible faces of the panel replicate classic traditional detailing, but with greatly improved thermal performance. Traditional panels are also a weak spot for water ingress, since the degree of swell/ shrink across the panel is magnified due to the width of timber, which constantly breaks the paint seal. We overcome this by using Accoya or Tricoya panels which exhibit 80% less movement than other timbers. Additionally, we developed a panel seating method that will accommodate the slight movement without breaking the seal.
